| Old Time Saddles 1/2 Seat Cheyenne $5,444 Circa 1880 - Texas north to Wyoming
The 1/2 Seat Cheyenne saddle was ridden by the Texas Trail Drovers of this time period. This basic 1/2 seat style was used for many years but it wasn't until about 1880 that the front jockey was put on them to give them more of a finished look. This basic style was made by many makers including Gallatin, Meanea, Collins, and Frazier. All made their own version of this saddle. This saddle was so popular that it was featured in some catalogs until the '20s and '30s.

This tree style was developed by the Miles City Saddlery Comapny which was owned by Coggshall at the time. It is said to be the first tree to be carved with swells instead of pieced together with individual pieces of wood to make the swells. Coggshall is credited with the idea but he was the business owner, and not a saddlemaker. The swells are low on this tree which make them very accessible to the rider.

| Old Time Saddles Santa Fe $3,732 Circa 1838 - Spanish & Vaquero Influence
The Sante Fe originates in and around, Sante Fe, and was a favorite of the Mountain Man Era. Within the bounds of the Northern Spanish Territory, the locals created saddles from resources that were available. The highly decorative Spanish Saddles were modified to fit the needs of those who resided permanently in the area, and thus the influence repeated with our Santa Fe.
The large fenders, fancy brass Geronimo conchoes, and detailed tooling have a strong Spanish influence in our reproduction.

| Old Time Saddles Hope $3,769 Circa 1835 - Early Texas
The Hope Saddle was originally created by Adolphus Hope of Washington County, Texas in the early 1830's. With its predominate anglo influence, the saddle became quite popular among the early Texans for its form and functionality.
Hope modified the traditional Mexican large, oversized horn to fit the needs of the Texas cowboy. The feature permitted the cowboy more control while roping the wild longhorn in the thick Texas brush country. In addition, he helped popularize the use of a double cinch to keep the saddle firmly in place. Because once the slack in the rope was removed, as they say, "all hell would break loose" as the longhorn would break for cover.
Hope improved the current trend of the era by adding more leather to the rawhide tree, a relative new invetnion, as the custom was that of using simple wooden trees covered with leather for padding.
